A game about my most-loved subject...

User Rating: 5.1 | The Bible Game GBA
Wow. This game is really hard to describe. On one hand, the graphics really really suck, the controls are incredibly too simple, the sound isn't anything special, and the maps are really hard to navigate. On the other hand, it's more of a trivia game than an adventure game anyway, and the trivia is done fairly well.

In case you don't know, you play as either a boy or a girl, traversing several levels in search of the "Armor of God." On your journey, you collect scrolls and holy water. You read the scrolls to gain more Bible knowlege, and you shoot holy water at demons. There also spiders you can jump on.

The graphics are horrendous. The game is presented in an isometric view, which isn't that bad, but was the entirely wrong way to go. In trying to be "3-Dish," the game looks like a huge, blurry mess. On top of that, the scenery, trees, buldings, etc. are blocky and ugly.

The gameplay, at least most of it, is incredibly bad. The jumping is especially bad; much of the time, you'll miss the spiders. Shooting the holy water is okay, but the graphics are so bad that you can't really apreciate the shooting. On the other hand, the trivia is done very well. There are thousands of Bible questions, and the trivia is quite fun.

The sound is awful. What little sound there is is a mix of people talking and demons insulting you, as well as a very bad soundtrack.

If you want this game because you like the Bible, I suggest go reading a Bible.
