Even if you are a casual fan of The Beatles, The Beatles: Rock Band is a game you ought to play.

I'm not what you would call a hardcore Beatles fan. Even so, I wanted to check out The Beatles: Rock Band, and I enjoyed it tremendously.

One of the things I enjoyed about The Beatles: Rock Band was that the entire track list is all Beatles songs. No guest acts. No songs from bands that supposedly "inspired" The Beatles. Nothing. It seems silly to pay for a Beatles game that has songs from bands like The Monkees or other popular bands from the 60's.

And speaking of the track list, it is a solid selection of classic Beatles songs like "Here Comes the Sun," "Dear Prudence." and "Revolution." What's also great about it is that for gamers like me that are slowly getting into Expert mode, a lot of the songs selected won't tie you fingers in a knot. Granted, they are still challenging enough for those that can pass Expert in a breeze.

Presentation looks fantastic. From the Cavern, to Shea Stadium, to the dreamscapes of the studio years, it all looks great. The obvious problem is that you are too busy playing to truly admire it. The dreamscapes was my personal favorite, as it was amazing to see them bring life to the songs you are playing.

The only complaint I could think of is the price tag. Basically, you are only getting 40+ songs for a full $60. The extras they include in the game, such as rare photos with facts about the band and videos are great, and it might justify the asking price, depending on your viewpoint.

The Beatles: Rock Band is a great addition to any music game fan's library. Even if you are not a huge fan of The Beatles, this is still a fantastic game to play. This is a great chance to get to know the band and perhaps even become a new Beatles fan.
