One of the best action RPG of all time, a jewel on the SNES.

User Rating: 10 | Tenchi Souzou SNES
You start the game as Ark, a young boy in village that seems the only thing in the world. The life is very simple, but one day you open a door that you shouldn't and finds a strange creature inside. Then, you are given the task to explore 5 towers to resurrect the continents of the outside world, and when you've done it, put life in them again. You will raise the nature, the people, the cities, and with your decisions you will make the world as you like.

You will begin in Africa initiating the trees and rivers; you'll travel to Europe, where you participate in a major election if France, that mark the development of the city. You'll fight in a castle in Spain, and get a boat in Portugal to discover America like Cristobal Colón did, and witness the creation of the plane.

This is mixed with the meeting with characters that have resemblances to the people you left in your home, that will continue in your journey, as you bring technology to the world, and bad people start to mess with the world you're raising. Then the game turns a little darker, as you find allies that will help you in your task.

The graphics are very well done, a colorful world, with a perfectly carried mode 7. The creation of the cities is very realistic, from the medieval age, to the actual time.

The sound gives you some of the most beautiful melodies you've ever heard, and it fits perfectly, either the sad or the happy moments.

The combat system is active, not turns like the FF series. You only control Ark during the entire game, which develos his abilities and gets weapons, armors and magics.

As a good RPG you have a lot of secondary quests to get equipment or just to evolve the cities from little village with 3 o 4 buildings to megacities, where you'll find restaurants, hotels and your own house, with your elected furniture. a world that fits you.

I will end saying that I haven't felt bored in all the times I played Terranigma, because it have a great story that never ceases to amaze. A masterpiece that even now could beat actual RPGs. Play it at any cost.
