Essential to play if you're a Terminator 1 and 2 fan.

User Rating: 9 | Terminator: Resistance PC

I almost missed out on this game. There is either a conspiracy against it by paid reviewers or they were just too lazy to even play it and gave it a flat out bad score.

Just go by user reviews here, this game is a classic. It's one of the best games i've played based off a movie... they got the terminator feel perfect here. Even when you take down a terminator or blow off one of its arms, the little bastards get back up and keep trying to kill you just like in the movie. Its so great. Even the pipe bombs you use take you right back to the first movie when you toss them around and they tear up the terminators.

The game runs smooth also... there is no microstutter, no fps drops at all and it just runs very well... but I hate the antialiasing they have forced into the game. It looks like some type of TXAA/Temporal AA. It can be mostly disabled through multiple edits in a cfg file if you look it up, but its insane we have to do this. It's pretty much essential because if you don't, the entire game looks blurry as hell.... but after disabling the AA, the game looks sharp and pretty nice. I ran Sweetfx/Reshade with SMAA and a bit of color adjustments so I could get a bit darker contrast with the blacks in the game and a bit of AA without the blurring.

Also there is no ultrawide 21:9 support... but there is a user made patch that can be applied to give 21:9 and after that it looks great.

There is a lot of resource gathering here which to be honest I find annoying, I didn't like that in Fallout either but its extremely easy to just avoid it completely and cheat a bit and give yourself infinity ammo using something like Cheat Engine so you can just enjoy the game and blowing up terminators instead of randomly grabbing items non stop.

And as I mentioned Fallout... this game feels like if Fallout was a linear semi open world game based in the terminator universe but at times feeling like Fallout, but the shooting is much better. Also its much shorter, I'm not sure the exact length I played but maybe 10+ hrs and a bit.

The terminators themselves are well done, they are mindless killing machines just like in the movies. Not too smart really which is what you expect, they will find you and just fire their guns at you until you are dead or they are. Most of the time its pretty easy to deal with them but in some areas where there is no exit and they are walking down a narrow path at you... its pretty scary stuff and really great.

And damn... when you get those terminator plasma guns and start firing those things off, the game becomes the movies. It felt like the opening scenes of each of the movies and you are living it. The sound and look of them are beautiful to witness. I actually wish the game was longer because when I got the generation 2 plasma guns I was so powerful I didn't want the game to end.

The way they have tied this game into its own story that leads perfectly into the first and second movie is a thing of beauty. This game ends right where the first movie and the second movie begin. Some of the main objectives in the game lead into the starting events in those two movies. It makes playing the game feel more important as well since you are the one making everything possible for those events to even happen.

So, I actually can't understand it, this game is fantastic. If you are even the slightest terminator fan and don't mind blowing up things you can't miss this. I got so addicted to this game I played it almost 5 hours straight and I finished the game within 2 days... this is rare for me, I usually get bored and never even finish most of the games I play. Paid reviewers sicken me when they get together to collectively bash a game, this game deserves better than this and shouldn't have been trashed by elitist posers. Best listen to Terminator fans, this game is great. (Also, I think I saw at least one nipple during one of the sex scenes.)
