Now I know why this game is only $29.99-it's horrible. It's funny, sometimes I think that you guys can be a little too critical of a game, but in this case, you were too nice!! First of all, the gameplay mechanics stink. No matter how hard I tried, I never felt like I was in the right position to hit the ball correctly, which is due to: a)the players move like they are stuck in quicksand, and, b)the double hit technique needs to be dumped. Why have the last 2 tennis games, this one and WTA Tour Tennis, use this double hit premise? Does anybody remember Virtua Tennis? All you had to do was hit the button and viola, the person swung their racket and hit either a forehand or a backhand, depending on their positioning. Alright, next-the graphics. They're probably the best thing about the game, and they're not even that great. The player faces are done crisply, although they're all fake so they could design any lackluster face they wanted, they didn't even have to replicate a real person. Next-the animation. You know, the fact that this game doesn't have any real players is a negative, so don't you think it'd be nice to have something that would set these players apart from each other besides their looks, like, I don't know, maybe individual swings for each player? Every single player swings a generic forehand and backhand. Why bother to pick anybody different, just pick one guy and run with him. Ok, I could go on forever, but my 100 words are probably up, so in closing, let me just say that this game isn't worth $2 let alone $30, so save your money, and pray to god that the designers of Top Spin get it right.
