This game is very underrated. I don't get why reviewers hated so much.

User Rating: 6.5 | Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2: Battle Nexus GC
In magazines I see like 3/10 scores. I give this game a 6. I borrowed this game from my friend for a week. My other friend and I played it in Co-op and beat it in 2 days. One of the main problems is that it is way to short. Levels take about 2-6 minutes to beat. Once you beat the game you don't reallywant to play it again.

The gameplay is good. It can be repetetive in single player, but if you have a friend over it is a lot funner. There is no 4 Player deathmatches though. Ninja Turtles 1 had a better multiplayer because you can go against another human. The co-op play is like this: If you are playing alone you get the 4 turtles to play as. (Press Z to switch off) In 2 Player, each person gets 2 turtles. In 4 Player each person gets a turtle. Each turtle has there own weapon and you fight enemies with those weapons or shurikens. There are bosses, but they are not hard at all. You share a health bar with your teammates. Also, you unlock an awesome Arcade Game of TMNT.

It's a step up from last years Ninja Turtles game, it looks almost like the show. The cutscenes range from the show's cartoon graphics, and some 3-D cutscenes. The cutscenes are cool because they are actual clips from the show. The in game graphics were greatly done by Konami. They are cel-shaded, like Viewtiful Joe and Go! Go! Hypergrind. It makes it look like the show.

The music in Battle Nexus is decent. In fact the music is pretty good. The main flaw is the voice acting. Even though it's not bad the voices can get very repetitive in gameplay. Each character will say something over and over again. The voice acting is straight from the tv show.

Once you beat the game you won't want to play it again. It's not like Super Smash Bros. Melee or Animal Crossing. The game is also very short. Short to the point that my friend and I beat the entire game in one night. It was in two player co-op but still one night isn't so good. The unlockable arcade game should keep you well entertained.

The unlockable Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles unlockable game is really the best part of this game. It still looks and sounds pretty good and it's pretty tough in parts. It has co-op which is great and it is just a great way to kill time. I'd give the arcade game alone an eight out of ten. If your a huge TMNT fan than check this game out. If not, a rental for beat 'em up fans.
