User Rating: 9 | Syphon Filter: The Omega Strain PS2
When i first picked up this game, i was a bit skeptical knowing that this game got a 6.5/10 on gamespot. However, being a syphon filter fan for years now compelled me to buy this game. I don't have a psp, so i couldn't get my hands on syphon filter: Dark Mirror, but getting Syphon Filter: The Omega strain was a step up from the previous ps1 titles I've played. So having said all that, here's the rundown....

Graphics - 9
Some people might not agree with this, but comparing it to the previous titles on ps1 and most 3rd person shooters out there the graphics are way better. Everything is fully detailed, and there are very little noticeable bugs.

Gameplay - 8
The game play is this game is different from the norm. First off, there is plenty of weapons, ranks, and plenty of bonuses to unlock giving this a high replay value. Each mission has a time limit (mission dead line, par time) where you must complete all the objectives in the alloted time. some missions have team exclusive objectives. these are objectives that must be completed with the help of a teammate, forcing the player to go on-line and play the missions as a team. the mission deadlines for on-line multi-player are to be completed in a less amount of time than single player, forcing players to co-op, compromise on the objectives, and finish the mission to reach the deadline. However, here is where the game play takes its fall: in the past titles of Syphon Filter, you were given the option to restart from a checkpoint. Syphon Filter: The Omega Strain has checkpoints, however, you can't restart the mission from those checkpoints. You can fail an objective and still complete the mission. Syphon Filter: The Omega Strain is a very challenging game game.
