When I first got the game I was disappointed. The interface was bad and graphics are mediocre; I couldn't get into it. The tutorial didn't help either; I had to learn the game myself or read off forums (and there are very few forums). I played another game of same genre (and similar rating) and got bored of it. That other game didn't have much depth nor replayability. I forced myself to came back and played this game some more. Once I get into it, it was surprisingly good. This game has depth that is often lacking in other games. It reminded me of Master of Orions 2. The ship creation and technology are unique. For example you can make a scout by putting Deepscan and cloaking field on a destroyer. You don't just create a generic scout like other games. There are more than one way to win, you can unleash bio weapons or drop enemy morale so low that they rebel. You don't have to always overwhelm an enemy with brute force. The six races are all different yet pretty balanced compare to other games (I got all the expansions). There are so many random elements kind of like Diablo 2; make it very replayable. The space battle are pretty good, but I wish they had even larger fleet size.
Wish they had improved diplomacy system and more random encounters (most encounters in this game aims to kill you).
A must have for any turn based space strategy fans.
