Swat 3 is one of those games that ages very well due to the gameplay, since the game is a simulation it did not capture the PC gaming market like Halo or Max Payne in it's time, making Swat 3 more of a cult classic.

Swat 3 was a huge jump from the 2d Swat 2 as the graphical engine was now in 3d and along with the eye candy, Sierra also put similar gameplay mechanics from it's predecessors. Enemies dynamically spawn, also they spawn with either high, medium or low aggression, giving it high replay value. Another nice touch was a deep scenario editor so you could program more missions to keep yourself busy.

One of the biggest blunders was that a good majority of modding sites went under, so if you did not have the mods then they are pretty much lost to history now, which is a real shame as the engine is pretty plastic.
