Supreme Commander is a good game. Before I bought Supreme Commander, I expected it to become the best game I would play in a long while, however, it didn't live up to this grand aspiration, falling a goodly distance short, and becoming a game that I regret spending $50 on. The game isn't all that bad, the strategic zoom is great, and now, whenever I play any other strategy games, I think to myself... why cant this game have good zoom like Supreme Commander… but, along with this, I think the scale of buildings and units have been thrown out of proportion. The very smallest building in the game is MASSIVE compared to the trees around it, and then all the average sized buildings are super-structures, which, for me, is a tad unrealistic (even though the game is set in the future). The graphics are fairly good, though I expected better, and when you zoom right in, they can leave something to be desired. My mid-high range computer plays the game fairly well, however, there can be a lot of slow up later in skirmishes, especially with 4 or more players. The campaign story is alright, however having to start again with the most basic of units at the start of each separates factions campaign is highly annoying, and five missions each just doesn't seem enough. The futuristic setting is good, and I think that the game could have been a whole lot better if it has a space aspect involved in game play, rather then just glossing over the space part of the timeline. Another good thing about this game, is watching massive experimental units battle it out.

Supreme Commander is a good game, that could have been a whole lot better. It will still, however, take you a lot of time to play and give you a lot of enjoyment.
