Alright
I really had some doubts buying this game, because it's not a big title like GT, F1 CE, GRID or NFS. But having played F1 CE for 3 years now (excellent game by the way), it was really time for something new. Since I was looking for a real simulation game (so NOT games like GRID and NFS) and having been dissappointed by the NASCAR titles in the past, I came across Superstars V8.
I hesitated ordering it, but it's really quite impressive. The V8 monsters handle like real cars do. If you push the car too far, your tires will be wasted laps before you finish.
It is quite tricky to master. You can edit the controlls, but you cannot assign the right analog stick to throttle/brake (as I always did in the F1 game). On your six axes controller it's adsvised to accellarate by using R and brake by using A This takes some getting used to, but it actually drives like a dream when you get the hang of it (which you eventually will).
It is not a 'big' game and the V8 Superstars championship is fairly unknown and non-inviting to Northern Europeans.
Gameplay however really compensates for this.
I love it! Black Bean has done a good job.
I really hope Codemasters will take a look at this game while developing their new F1 game (due may 2010), instead of using their lousy GRID-engine.
