Super Thunder Blade is a poor, cash-in sequel to a pretty decent game.
Super Thunder Blade is a vertical shooter in which you take control of a helicopter, and of course, shoot everything. The first thing you will notice is the sound. The music and the sound effects in this game are pretty bad. All of the sound just seems to result in a bunch of loud noises that make it hard to concentrate. The good thing you will notice about the game is the graphics, they look pretty good and dare I say a bit innovative for the time. But, that doesn't help, as the game has a choppy framerate that nearly ruins the experience.
As you play the game, you will notice that the bullets and missiles coming toward you are almost indeterminable. It ups the challenge, but at times makes it seem impossible. However, if you are a hardcore gamer, this will be a pro. But you won't feel good for long, the game only lasts for four tedious level. Hooray.
Super Thunder Blade was a failed product by Sega that should have been kept on the shelves. If you want to have fun shooting from the air, play Thunder Blade or Afterburner instead.
