Capcom's attempted the double dip but have they succeeded?

Street Fighter IV proved to be a big hit but is it's bigger brother any better?
Super Street Fighter IV has turned out to be a fantastic feat in my opinion. It has crisp gameplay mechanics and has turned out to be highly addictive. The small character balances and tweaks have proved to be helpful. Upping the anti of the not so good fighters and dumbing down things such as the attack power of the better competitors. Also everyone now has a second ultra.

In the graphics department all seems to have gone well. Sure Capcom maybe hasn't changed the graphics from the original Street Fighter IV but they sure have done a fine job of rendering classic characters in full 3D from games such as 3rd Strike Fight For The Future. Making that A. OK.

The cast has also received a major update of 10 new characters. Makoto, Dudley, Cody, Guy, Adon, Hakan, Juri, Ibuki, Dee Jay and T.Hawk.All of which have their own unique moveset and ultra's.

The online is also a nice change from battles against the CPU opponents. Human competitors out there just looking for a fight can offer a challenge the A.I. never will. So you will have to plan your tactics accordingly if you want to win. And because each player has their own tactics, each fight is never the same.

However, as we all know, no matter how good a game is it will always have it's flaws. The A.I. can at times seem cheap and frustrating, even on the easiest difficulty setting (Yes Seth i'm talking to you). And lag or or a dodgy connection online is hardly a rare sight. And don't get me started on how much some online users can spam the same attack. But I won't criticise the game too highly for it's online features as I rarely use it. Also the stories, while new, still hardly make a lick of sense and it's hard to tell what on earth some of them are about.

But bad things aside this is a great fighter that is not to be missed. It's just as fun and entertaining as a Street Fighter game should be. Sure it needs some polishing here and there but doesn't every game? So lets look forward to the Arcade Edition as well.
