Capcom improved what was already the best fighting game series ever made.

Super Street Fighter II improved what many people already said was already the best fighting game series of all time. The way it did this was by:-

Adding 4 new characters including:-

T-Hawk,who is a huge native Indian(American Indian)and he can use his size and strength to lift you up and pound you into the ground and he can launch himself in the air vertically or straight at you like an arrow. His lack of agility is a bit of a weakness, but when his attacks connect, they'll do a lot of damage. To give you an idea of how strong he is,he can pick you up with one hand, spin you around like a yoyo and pound you into the ground.

Cammy is a slender female assassin and her looks are very deceiving as she has some lethal abilities such as how she corkscrews her body and unleashes a power kick/s on her opponent and she can thrust her body into the air and counter an opponent with a powerful kicking move. She has very good timing with her attacks too.

Dee Jay is a Jamaican fighter who fights while he dances to reggae music. He is very buff and has his own projectile attack and while his special moves aren't that great his basic attacks are very effective. But you don't want to get in the way of his uppercut combo.

Fei Long is a character from Hong Kong who fights like Bruce Lee.He likes to rush at you with incredible hand speed and has a move where he kicks the air around him and causes flames to ignite and sets any opponent caught by it on fire.

The earlier Street Fighter II games were known as being revolutionary because their gameplay required intricate timing and strategy to win, which meant knowing which move to use at what time and being skillful enough to execute it quickly enough was the key to winning.

Super Street Fighter II improved the AI of the CPU opponents and gave the game a more global feel and made the graphics a little bit sharper and gave new/modified environments where you fight each character.

Characters that were once a pushover such as Chun Li and Dhalsim were now tough opponents.Ryu would now counter an opponent after he blocked their shoryuken attack.

Ken's shoryuken was modified to set opponents on fire and is capable of constantly hitting an opponent 3 or even times.Ryu could now perform a special type of hadoken that glows orange and sets his opponent on fire for extra damage, plus Ryu's hadoken was given a larger size and does more damage to opponents now, which made Ryu and Ken more unique.

The characters were redrawn at the VS screen so they have more detail such as better skin tone, hair detail, more details for their clothing etc.The characters could now wear costumes of more than 6 different colors now(I think),instead of just the 2 like in the previous SF2 games.

The environments for the new characters added more cultural flavor.

Cammy's stage has an English castle and countryside in the background.

Dee Jay's stage has the tropical,Caribbean feel with drummers in the background and people dining out and enjoying the atmosphere.

Fei-Long's stage has the Chinese/Hong Kong style influence, including a dragon decoration.

T-Hawk's stage has a cowboy/western theme.

The music for every character's theme was remixed, and it was remixed for the character select screen too. Some of the remixed themes sound better, although I think some of the original themes were better.

I think the SNES version of SSF2 did a good job of representing this arcade game, and is the best 16-Bit version of the game.
