A great localized sequel to a great localized strategy RPG.

User Rating: 8.5 | Super Robot Taisen: Original Generation 2 GBA
If you can't tell by my other reviews Super Robot Taisen(SRT) is my favorite franchise EVER. But this being said some of the games do have their quirks and problems. However I am happy to say that I can find no fault in SRT: Original Generations 2(SRT:OG2).

SRT:OG2 picks up where SRT:OG left off. The world has been saved and everyone is getting on with their lives when, you guessed it, the world is threatened again, this time by an even greater enemy. And so many of the characters from the first game must once again pilot their super powerful robots, joined by some new faces and units, to stop this threat to humanity.

Gameplay is the same as ever, but the additions of new characters and units, and new combo attacks, freshens things up considerably. I particularly like Sanger Vonzolt and his Dygengar. Once again you can customize your character and units' stats, your characters' skills, and your units' loadouts and equipment. I find in most cases the default load outs are fine. In the case of equipment there have been some new pieces added, some of which are quite powerful.

Graphically SRT:OG2 is far superior to the previous entry, sprites are clearer and much more animated. And some of the new units have some truly spectacular attacks.

The sound is better than before, with unique themes for different characters and situations, but as with the last iteration, and considering that this is a GBA game, do not expect to be blown away by the effects.

The value of this game is great for a fan of SRT, or for a fan of SRPGs in general. The new game plus bonuses are intact for subsequent playthroughs after the first time through, as opposed to after clearing both routes as in SRT:OG.

All things considered this is a great game and a nice improvement over SRT:OG. If you like SRPGs and are looking for a good one for GBA, get this game. And if you are a fan of SRT, you should already have it.
