OG mechs are just as good! Maybe BETTER... Newcomers read this review for a good guide to the SRW series...

User Rating: 9.4 | Super Robot Taisen: Original Generation 2 GBA
To those that have played and liked the all the SRW series, im sure they would agree with me that the game delivers above all else... Buy this game as its totally worth it...

OK... For those that do not know what Super Robot Wars (Taisen) offers as a game, here's my review for you... Expect text-heavy storylines, and great movielike-mechanical-mayhem!

SRWOG 2 for the GBA may start off very puzzling for newcomers as the storyline follows up from its prequel SRWOG. So abit of background knowledge of the prequel's storyline will come in handy, but it will not make much difference to playability...

Gameplay... Easiest said, is to compare it to games like Fire Emblem and Advance Wars... But an obvious difference to those typical TBS games, is that SRWOG 2 have cinematic-like fight scenes. Each attack would have 'movies' which would make your blood pump with adrenaline. Obviously, the stronger the attack; the better the cinemetics...

Player will take turns to move their forces through the map. And landscape, levels, pilot/mech specialty, and attributes all take effect; if an attack would lead to a hit, block, miss and even a counter or damage absorbtion! An ally, if so desired, would be able to block an incoming attack! OR they could assist you in a follow-up of attacks to finish off the enemy!

There are also unlockable mechs and weapons waiting for the diligent players!

In comparison to OG 1; OG2 delivers MORE mechs and allows players to have a more veriaty of mechs to use... Almost all the mechs of OG2 that the player will receive are of 'Hero Classes'.

And what have been almost forgotten in OG 1; is the fact that there are now more Team Attack! Some mechs are already strong by themselves but, some 'couples' would have the ability to work together to perform a SINGLE attack that cause great damage, and awesome cinemetic performance.

SRWOG 2 will also have their moments of light hearted humour during the stanby phases, and sad moments as well... All in all, the storyline is one huge rollercoaster ride that keeps you glued to the small GBA screen wanting to know more, and makes you feel like you're actually there yourself...

One of the most challenging problems here for Newcomers is the gameplay system... It is best to start off by playing OG1. But dont let that get you down as the game will slowly GROW ON YOU... If you require more help, FAQs have already been written to help you with the game... Soon, you will get the hang of it as the story gets even deeper...

And before you know it, you will be a fan of the unique game series, that is Super Robot Wars (Taisen). Just like all the others that have played the game before you...
