The same goes for being able to turn that same character to what looks like a stick of gum, or an acid tab.
Super Puzzle Fighter II is my 2nd favorite game, right behind X-Com Ufo Defense. What makes it so great, is that to truly master the game, you need to plan far in advance, and know your enemy. All of that, while catchy phrases, music, and sound fx are being thrown at the players.
When you first play the game, you may think of Dr. Mario or Tetris to some extent. It's not a bad thing, as those games are great. However, in this game, when you clear your screen or destroy gems, it will all go to your opponents screen, unless they destroy a similar amount of gems as well. If you are successful, your character will pull out some of their patented moves on screen, and bash the opposing character. As you get more familiar with how to setup chains (destroying gems), you will find yourself trying to come up with better ways to set yourself up. The more chains you have, the prettier the destruction.
All in all, this game has character and great game play. It's highly addictive, so if you are interested, you won't be disappointed.
