Non-sensical , Pointless , Frustrating , yet somehow somewhat enjoayble anyway....

User Rating: 6 | Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz WII
This game starts with a bunch of monkeys who have a golden bunch of bananas , when out of nowhere... for no reason... a gigantic pink pirate gorrila steals them.

So this somehow means you have to set off on a journey through countless places that magically float 7,000 feet above the ground , rolling in a ball when in reality it'd be easier for the monkeys to traverse the areas on foot...

No words are ever spoken , no text explanation is ever given... the story makes absolutley no sense because there is no explanations of anything. For all we know the monkeys stole those bananas from the pink gorilla 1st or something. Why do they have to do everything inside of hamster-esque balls? Do the bosses hav anything to do with the pink gorilla? Why and how are these places all floating 1,000 feet in the air? How does going through various obstacle courses in the sky while in a ball ACTUALLY have anything to do with retreiving these gold bananas? Why do they even want to get the gold bananas back? Do they taste better? Are they EVEN edible? Theres so many unanswered questions in this non-sensical game..

There are 8 worlds in the game each with 8 levels plus a boss in them. For some reason after your monkey has rolled their way through the 8 levels per world you are then faced with a boss who we can only assume must for some reason be that giant pink gorillas minion or something... cause they have 1 golden banana each...

I'm PRETTY sure that the monkeys will not even eat the golden bananas when they have them all back

The controls and the levels can at times be so annoying that the slightest mistake makes you lose the level... I can pretty much guarantee you will fail like half the levels in the game 10+ times each

The mini games mode , well half the mini games controls are so bad they are unplayable , most of the rest of them aren't interesting enough to want to play more than a few times anyway..

Also many of the many games call you a failure if you don't win... cause thats great for boosting kids who are playing the games self esteem right? lol

So yeah anyway the summary here is that this games plot makes no sense whatsoever , the controls and levels make for a frustrating combination most of the time... yet overall it somehow ends up being a game that you don't completely hate anyway , maybe its just the charm of the monkeys , maybe we actually like the obsurd challenge of falling off the random platforms 6,893 times? Who knows. Overall I give the game a 6/10 for basically being stupid as hell but yet somehow somewhat enjoyable anyway.
