This game deserves the highest score because it was one of the most important SNES game ever created. I would spend days playing it, and playing all over again because it was such a masterpiece. This game created the metroidvania style, which carries its name, exploring a 2D world and enhancing your character to achieve new places and advance in the game. Although those features are common nowadays, this game was the first I know about to implement them.
