A Pretty Good Game for the Original Game Boy! :D

It never ceases to amaze me that even after 25 years of being a devout video game player, dedicated to playing, beating, and enjoying every good video game I can find; there are still some video games that I don't get around to playing until many years after they have originally been released! Even though this game was released 20 years ago for the original Black and White Game Boy, it still managed to do one crucial thing that I look for in video games: it surprised me! :O I'm amazed by how good it is and how it still holds up on the Nintendo 3DS Virtual Console! :!: The stages are well-designed with several hidden surprises, and that includes stages with two separate exits that will lead to brand new stages and paths for those who want to seek it! :) Since this is a Wario game more than the initial Mario game title would have people think it is; this game is truly Wario's first time to shine, as he gets unique power-ups not seen in Mario games. The cool power-ups include Bull Hat Wario, who can do a ground slam, which breaks wooden blocks and knocks most minor enemies off of their feet; Dragon Hat Wario, who can breathe fire, taking out enemies and wooden blocks from a distance; and my personal favorite, Jet Hat Wario, who can propel himself through the sky, often discovering many hidden treasures and secrets! :D As a Wario game, the goal is for Wario to collect as many coins and treasures as he possibly can. The more coins and treasures Wario collects by the last stage, the better of a video game reward/residence Wario will receive for all his troubles. Collecting all the treasures and 99,999 coins will give Wario an entire planet! 8) This game is a wonderful introduction to the antics that Wario undertakes, and I highly recommend it to players looking for a fun, retro blast from Wario's past! Enough said, true believers! ;)
