In February, I received a download code for Super Mario Bros Deluxe, as part of a Nintendo Network promotion offer for the 3DS. Super Mario Bros Deluxe is a remake of Super Mario Bros and Super Mario Bros: The Lost Levels. These games have now have additional features which include starting with 5 lives instead of 3, the glitches in the original game have been removed, Peach and Toad now have talking animations etc.
The game also has a number of other modes which include Challenge Mode: which makes you go through various courses while collecting Red Coins and Yoshi Eggs, You vs Boo mode: which you can race against the Boo in eight challenging courses (this requires 100,000 points in SMB to unlock), Super Mario Bros For Super Players, which is basically a remake of Lost Levels (requires 300,000 points in SMB to unlock), Multi-player: in which you can race a friend on certain courses (this may be blocked off in the 3DS version) and the Toy Box mode which has different extras like the Fortune Teller, Yoshi Egg Finder, a calendar and a Mystery Room. There are various Icons and awards to get while going through the game.
In my opinion, this is by far the best GBC title I have ever played!!! This game is great for anyone ranging from veteran players to people who have never played Super Mario Bros before and they want to try it out. It has a variety of modes which increases replayability and I personally found the game a lot of fun to play!!! This is one of the best remakes of a game which brings nostalgia to veterans and a whole new experience to the newcomers to the Mario series!!!
