The third game in the Super Mario NES saga makes a much better sequel to the first game than the second game ever did.

User Rating: 10 | Super Mario Bros. 3 NES
Like previous adventures, Mario has to rescue the princess from Bowser and go through a number of different worlds to reach him. Unlike Super Mario Bros 2, this game has a lot to offer in terms of gameplay, graphics and storyline. Mario 2, while still a good game despite that, honestly felt like it was just rushed and slapped together because the creators were in a hurry for something.

Also unlike previous games, there are more powerups to choose from. The raccoon suit, the hammer suit and the tanooki suit are just a few of them (play the game to see all the rest!). There are also more levels than previous games, also. I enjoyed how you can find hidden levels in worlds as well.

Another thing that makes this game so great is the variety of challenges in the levels, also something the previous games did not have much of. There are also more hidden areas with prizes, as well as side games in each world.

My personal opinion of the game is that it's the best of the three NES Mario games, followed closely by the first Mario game.
