User Rating: 7.5 | Super Game Boy SNES
The Super Gameboy was released in 1994 for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System, and is a converter which allows you to play your Gameboy games on your Super Nintendo. It also adds some extra colors and a handful of cool borders.

The Good
- Allows you to play all of your Gameboy games on the big screen
- Excellent compatibility, works with basically every game
- You can map the control to match your Gameboy however you'd like
- Choose from a handful of neat borders, even create your own
- Flawlessly runs the games
- You can choose from over 30 color pallet's

The Bad
- There's no full screen support (understandable though)
- The sound effects can be a tad muffled
- The music can be pitched up or down, and isn't identical to the original

This add on is very handy, because first off, it saves you a lot in batteries. Secondly, it means that you can play your Gameboy games anytime around the house. If there was one good complaint about handheld games back then, its that you couldn't play the games with no batteries, whether your home or on the road. And personally, most of my time spent on the Gameboy was at home, not outside of the house. So this is a really great investment that will save you money.

The added colors it brings are also a nice touch, that give the games a much better look. The borders are pretty cool to, but if you would prefer to not have any border, you can make the border plain black, which is a nice addition. Some games are even designed for the Super Gameboy, and come with their own specialized borders built in the game, like the Donkey Kong Land games. You can also choose from over 30 different color pallets, changing the color of the sprites, backgrounds, foregrounds, etc. Its very interesting, customizable, and is a great idea.

Altogether, this is a fantastic add-on to the Super Nintendo, and it gives a lot of Gameboy games a new life, and it's really great to play these games on the full screen. I would definitely recommend this, but if you own a Gamecube, I would get the Gameboy adapter for that, since it will play the games full screen, and can also play Gameboy Color and Advanced games. But this is still a great add-on, especially for its time, and is well worth the money, since these players aren't rare or expensive.
