One of the NES's very best

User Rating: 9.3 | Super Contra NES
I remember getting this along with a whole ton of other NES games from my older cousin when I was eight years old. My sister and I never knew what the "C" stood for because the only games we'd ever played before it were Zelda, Tetris, Skiing and Super Mario Bros. Anyway, eventually I found out.

Now onto the review....

Super Contra is a run n' gun shooting/platforming game with plenty of enemies to fight and obstacles to jump. This is by no means an easy game so ye be warned when you put thy cart into thou NES. This remains one of the best and toughest NES video games.

You have to time your jumps and ducks well or else you'll be toast. I mean, after you get past the first level, it's all hell from then on. But in a good way, in a "I'm gonna die a lot, but this game rules!" kind of way. There are plenty of very fun (and hard) bosses to fight, and while the game isn't entirely long, it is packed with replayability just because the game is very fun.

The music is great, the graphics are greater and the bullets sound nothing even close to realistic, but that is okay because this is not an Xbox game. This is a NES game and that is how I like my run and gun shooter/platformers like Super C.

Overall, this is a somewhat little-known amazing, brilliant overall just great NES game, anyone with a NES needs to have this game. There is not much to say about it except it doesn't fall short of amazing.

And that brings a conclusion to my 161st review, and my review for Super C.
