Well-designed, clever and overall, fun.

User Rating: 7.5 | Strong Bad's Cool Game for Attractive People Episode 1: Homestar Ruiner WII
In a world where all names are getting shorter, such as Mountain Dew becoming MTN Dew, it's good to see Strong Bad's Cool Game For Attractive People Episode One Homestar Ruiner bucking the trend. This is the only game I've seen to be based on a popular internet cartoon series as well, which was slightly daunting at first considering I'd never even heard of Homestarrunner.com until I'd read a review of this game.

I shouldn't need to summarise the plot, but for those of you who aren't clued in despite how long this game has been out by the time I posted this review, you play as Strong Bad, an over-confident-but-low-achieving masked wrestler, as you try to ruin Homestar, your neighbour, an un-intelligent fool who happens to be a terrific athlete's chances of winning a local race by various means such as breaking him up with his girlfriend of disputable status after receiving an email from a fan telling Strong Bad to beat him up. The statistics come from completing mini-tasks as well as finding items for the Snake Boxer V side-quest.

Obviously, considering the game's roots, one would expect oneself to find laughs, which this game has in abundance. The little details have been stressed over. My personal favourite is the lower light switch in the title character's study that will trigger a rave. The story is easy to follow and will always surprise you.

Where the game falls down is how it actually works. Being a point-and-click adventure, you have to collect items by selecting them and waiting until Strong Bad walks over to them, which could be solved with a jump cut. Furthermore, actually knowing when to use the items takes a lot of guess work.

Finally, you can finish the game in less than an a day. I know I shouldn't be criticising an episodic game for being too short, but at 1000 points one would expect something more substantial.
