Side scrolling beat em ups don't get much better than this (exception to arcades - AvP , cadillacs and dinosaurs etc). A massive improvement on the Golden Axe twin that was Streets of Rage 1. Two out of the original 3 characters return along with many familiar bad guys.

The graphics are solid and dont try to do too much. Music is top notch from early 90s chill to electronic techno. The story is garbage but than again - it doesnt need one.

The highlight of the game is Level 7 on the vertical lift on Mania difficulty. Music thumping and bad guys-a-plenty to slaughter.

If you have a megadrive Buy this, forget about emulation - its just not the same. If you have a dreamcast download and burn "beats of rage" - an identical game with improved graphics and sprites from the King of Fighters series.
