One of my favorite fighting games.
If you like using the shotokan style, you can do so once again with Ryu or Ken,but the damage from their hadoken and shoryuken has been reduced to make things more fair.Akuma is a lethal opponent and he's selectable right from the start.Adon is more fun to fight against in SFA2 because he uses his Muay Thai style in a more effective way and can do a lot of damage to you with fast kicks, knees and elbows. There isn't much difference between how SFA2 and SF Alpha 1 play, except SFA2 has better character balance, more characters, prettier backgrounds and better music.
Besides the original cast of characters from the first SF Alpha game,Zangief and Dhalsim from Street Fighter II were included in this game,so is Gen from the original Street Fighter game,Rolento from Final Fight an Sakura who is a newly created character and uses a style similar to the shotokan style, and she's a school girl! Shin Akuma is a secret selectable character and secret boss.
I like how Rolento's stage has scrolling, colorful ads(with some nice pictures such as busty women in bikinis).Adon fights next to a river in Thailand and you can see people on their boats and it had a nice rural Thai atmosphere.Bison's soldiers hurry to salute Bison when he is in front of them but actual casual when he's further away.Charlie's stage has a jet fighter in the background and colorful lights.Ryu's stage has lots of snow and it's beautifully done.
The character endings are nicely presented or tell informative story information about the character.
I love the rock music for Adon's stage and the chilling music when you fight Akuma, and the enjoyable new or remixed character theme music.
Overall, the game is a blast to play,it's enjoyable and feels so playable and uses the technical SF style gameplay with great presentation.
