A number rating is unfair for this game since not everyone can play it.

After seeing all the glowing reviews for Street Fighter IV I decided to rent it. I was never a huge Street Fighter fan, but I did enjoy playing it every once in a while. I started in the arcade mode figuring I would get a feel for the game first. To my surprise I was losing 90% of the matches. The computer was using Ultra Combos and EX Super moves and a whole bunch of things I never even heard of. I quickly quit out and went to training to learn a little about the game, and was shocked when I realized that none of these moves are easy to pull off. After practicing for an hour and figuring out what all of these new features were, I went back to arcade mode and still got my butt kicked. I have put in maybe 12 hours to this point and I still lose 75% of the fights on medium difficulty. I now see this is not meant for the casual gamer.
If you like the series and are good at it you will love this game. It is beautiful, and all the characters are there from the old SF2 game. You will probably need to pick up an arcade stick because I can not believe the blister on my thumb from using the PS3 control pad, and you will probably need to practice a lot before going on-line. yes, its a good game but it is not for everyone. Rent it before you buy.
