The insane difficulty and lack of varied modes will put you off in a short space of time.

Having played Tekken on the PS2, I thought I'd try Street Fighter, seeing the great reviews. Unfortunately, I was put off quickly and disappointed by Capcom's effort.
Yes, the graphics are amazing, on both characters and backgrounds. The animated look of the game suits it, and details have been put into it. Despite this, the characters aren't perfect. The lip synchronisation is very bad, and they have different accents to the country they are meant to come from. As well as this, the character cut-scenes aren't for me. I appreciate that people may like them, but they are not to my tastes and slightly cheesy, I find.
The main problem is right into the center of the game. The fights are way too hard. Even very easy can be a challenge, for beginners at least. The higher difficulties may only be able to be done by people with the fastest reflexes. It wouldn't be good to be far too easy, but this toughness is very offputting.
The lack of modes is another problem. Basically, there is only arcade, challenge and multiplayer. Going through arcade is not worth it much. The only rewarding part of it is earning new characters and new coloured costumes.
I am extremely disappointed by the game and in my opinion it is overrated.
