This game is what a Fighting Game SHOULD be! Awesome visual style. Great Characters. Loads of fireballs.
Street Fighter 4 really blew me away, especially on the visuals. The Painted style is really something totally new and fantastic to look at. It's like an overload of color, which is not a bad thing.
Each character is really nicely designed. No time was spared in creating them and giving them awesome powers. From power fire balls, to crazy flying kicks. It's all there. It also feels like each character has it's own personality. Unlike other fighting games that is quite generic, each character has their own start sequence and win sequence. This tells you a lot about the character. Some are serious and some are funny, and others are just plain intellectually challenged.
I found that the fights were a little hard at points, making it rather frustrating to play. Even so I did manage to get through all the levels just fine with each character.
This is deffinitely a long term game with a lot more to do than just run through the endless acrade modes. An array of Challenges await as well as online play.
Fantastic game. I only wish that Midway could take some tips from Street Fighter!
