Establishing connection...

User Rating: 6.2 | Street Fighter II' Hyper Fighting X360
This is one of those games that *should* be great. I mean, Street fighter is pretty much the perfect 2D fighter as it is - all they have to do is just slap on a basic online service and there you have it. Unfortunately the online element to this game is so broken it's a joke. I mean, how hard can it be to give a game that's over a decade old a stable online feature? The game lags to a degree where it's impossible to time your moves right, and coupled with the terribly bad D-pad, most have resorted to E. Honda's hand slapping. Wooo! look ma! I can mash the B button! That pretty much describes 90% of those playing.
In addition to this, the game will frequently drop connection, and the scoring system is totally left open to fowl play and abuse. I hear Capcom released a patch for it recently, but it's really not helping my frustration. Hell Capcom, why didn't you fix the GAME first?!?!

On the plus side, at least the single player is in-tact. The game looks (well, mostly) and sounds (well, mostly) like street fighter. Problem is that the crappy D-pad gives you a serious handicap in an already hard game.

I'm probably moaning too much, but too be honest - I (along with everyone else in the SF community) was expecting something special. Instead capcom has managed to make street fighter *worse* by uploading it onto live.

Looks like we're still a long way from the dream that is online street fighter...
