The stripped content doesn't prevent Warrior's Dreams from being one of the best handheld ports in existence!

Being able to port the look and feel of the amazing street fighter franchise to a handheld system as limited as the Gameboy Color is a very impressive feat. Capcom has done this successfully with Street Fighter Alpha: Warrior's Dreams. Of course the content is limited as you may expect as there are only so many move combinations with the two attack buttons and the D-pad but each character has their special moves and two Ultra combo moves that are satisfying to pull off against your opponents. Unfortunately there are only a dozen fighters but each one is a popular choice and there are many colorful badies to choose from that are in the Alpha series, such as; Birdie, Rose and Sodom. Also the stages are very well done and the music to them is familiar and impressively well done on the Gameboy. The sound and graphics of this game are both phenomenal. The few things that are disappointing about this game are a lack of multiplayer and the missing stages and characters that for whatever reason couldn't carry over to the GBC. Also as in most other Street Fighter games, the story is bland and generic and upon completion of the game with a certain character, you are only rewarded with a little text a picture scene about their aftermath. In the end though, I would certainly recommend this game to anybody looking for a good 2D fighter for the handheld system, especially since there are not that many quality choices. It is also a fantastic road trip game for bored passengers.
