I lost my job because I got addicted to it

I was about to go to bed when I first put it in. I didn't end up going to bed that night. Or the next night. Or even the next. After that I don't remember much, except for the next 30 days I spent in my living room, complete darkness, stacks of pizza boxes and no connections to civilization as I navigated this world. After my electricity was shut off, I was able to break away from this viscous cycle. Now here I am. In hindsight I would not have done anything differently. I have a new outlook on life. I was able to get my old office job back. They are happy to see me come in so early every day, at the crack of dawn. Little to they know that they are misinterpreting this behavior for ambitiousness and hard work, when it really is because I want to see the garbage truck come and empty the dumpsters. It is one of the most serene moments of my day to be able to watch this wonderful work of art unfold. I can only hope that someday I can live next to a garbage dump.
