Great open world zombie game that tries to hard.

This game had me hooked when I heard it would be a open world zombie apocalypse game since I like open world games alot. The game starts of in a great way instantly throwing you into the gameplay without much of a tutorial but at the same time it's game mechanic is easy to understand and you learn fast by trial and error. You run up to a bag and search it slowly and then see hey I can speed this up, great let's do that. Then all of a sudden you make a loud noise which is much louder then if you had searched the bag slowly attracting every zombie in the area to your spot. This gives the simple task of searching for items a risk/reward feel to it seeing as should I take it slowly and not risk attracting zombies or should I speed things along with the risk of alerting every nearby zombie?

This is a small thing but something I think was a good thing to implement instead of just instantly finding every usefull item in the bag. Since every item, resource people and cars are limited in the game it gives a feel that you should'nt be wastefull with your things, for instance if you have a weapon it can be repaired if you stop using it before it breaks but if it breaks it's gone from the game and you have one less weapon to use. This also makes the game playable for a limited amount of time since you will eventually run out of resources. This is good in my book since it makes you feel like the game is more realistic, dont worry though you will be able to play for a long time. The gameplay is easy but at the same time it's made so that while a few zombies is no match for you fighting a big group or some of the special zombies can be quite the challenge.

The game however launched with a bunch of bugs, everything from glitching zombies to non working abilities. Some have already been fixed with the latest patch and they have promised to update it regulary. The game also launched with 4 resources food, ammo, materials and fuel. Fuel was suposse to be used for the generator building which would give your base electricity which would give benefits but this was cut in the beta which now leaves fuel with the only function of making fire bombs. This feels rushed and that they did'nt really think this through since now fuel is all but useless. The game is also made in such a way that it encourages you to play the game for a few hours and then play again tomorrow since a few of it's implements takes real time days to be finished and most of the ingame abilities and functions takes real time days to recharge or be used. For instance you want to repair your weapons okey it'll just take a real time day for the repair to be done. Oh and while your not playing the game will still play on to some degree using up your resources and have some effects in game like characters becoming sick, dieing or go missing. A friend came back and four of his survivors had died while he was not playing, myself I only lost resource, this part of the game is in my opinion a bit annoying seeing as my survivors living on while im not playing might be nice might but somehow here it dont feel that way since you can basicly only lose things. For instance I had spent maybe 4 hours gathering resources then going offline and playing two days later to come back and find I had lost all my the resources I had gained and more, Which meant I had to spend even more time gathering resources. They have made it so that the resource loss grows smaller and smaller the longer your not playing till it stops, which is a good thing since if I did'nt play for five days came back and found out everyone was dead and therefore everything I've played was for nothing I would be quite pissed.

Overall I like the game alot but it feels rushed, almost like it tries to have to many things in it that ended up no being finished.
