Starhawk is quite possibly the best multiplayer game to date on PS3 and is a must own for all owners Real score:

User Rating: 9.5 | Starhawk PS3
Back in the early PS3 days the best mutliplayer games were either online Motorstorm,Resistance, and Warhawk. Warhawk was nothing but an online game with lots of World War II theme hawks and tanks and other iconic weapons, and vehicles. I thought it was okay, but i never fully wraped around the controls of the vehicles and how everything works, so i always played Uncharted 2/3 or other online games. Then after some they bring the similar style of gameplay from warhawk and brings it into space with a decent-to very good at times story and single player mode, and all new weapons but the main focal point being the hawk. Its a series which has its roots all the way back to the original playstation warhawk game as well.. Overall any Halo, COD fanboy of shooter fans MUST check out Starhawk because you will be blown away with what the game has to offer..

The story is based around a rift savager Emmett Graves who was changed by exposure from rift energy, which is light blue energy from the ground. Emmett lucky was saved before he could totally loose his sanity by his best friend and partner Sidney Cutter, who fixes him up with a rift regulator which expels excess energy preventing harm to his body, he needs it in order to survive but this allows him to absorb rift energy boosting him to have have super human strength and skills. His brother Logan who was with him during the incident was fully transformed and serves as the main villain and brings a unique story progression of Emmett and his relationship with Logan, its very unique and keeps you playing the whole game. Emmett and Cutter get a job in his old childhood town of White Sands.

Starhawk is broken up into Sections where it teaches you how to play the game before jumping online, something I really like so you have comfort with the controls, weapons, and gameplay. Each area has you facing the Scabs, which are exposed Rift Engery people who lost all sanity and turned into Zombie-like monsters. Starhawks is a traditional 3rd person shooter with unlimited Sprinting, jumping, guns like Machine guns, snipers, rocket launcher, shotgun, flamethrower. But the thing that separates this game from every other shooter is the ability to call down Walls, Turrents, Vehicles, Shields, etc.. the Build and Battle as its called essentially gives you the power to place down anything you want with a cost of replenish-able Rift energy to protect your base or basically destroy your opponent. The amount of things you can bring down varies from mission to mission, and same goes with online. This is what sets this game apart from all other games in the genre and even warhawk. This greatly expands the replay ability and makes each round feel different and new.
The storyline also has sections dedicated in the air only in which you get new weapons for your Hawk. The Hawk in this game is essentially and transformer in which you can walk around like a mech suit able to stomp on people and get upclose, but also be able to on the fly change into a Hawk and the gameplay turns similar to Starfox and other space flight shooters, its got a great feel once you get the hang of the controls and learning curve... Dont be discouraged if you blow up fairly fast it happens the first few times but the longer your in the air the better you are and its a lot of fun then.

Overall the story mode will last anywhere between 5-10 hours i guess i did not clock it and they dont show you how long you played but thats just a guess could be give or take a few.. But thats just a bonus because you will be spending most of your time playing the Online part of this game. Online has lots of different modes to choose from and basically has something for everyone including Deathmatch, Capture the Flag, Team Deathmatch, Zones, Dogfight (all hawk battle) and more. But My favorite is the 1-4 player Co-op mode which has you defend your base vs 5-6 waves of enemies which can result in great team play and domination, or if everyone is screwing around end up in destruction. I think the mode is very fun and with people you know all on the same page the mode is even better and stands up to Gears Horde mode on 360. On another note, games take note on how Starhawk's Splitscreen looks, thats how all shooters should be split-screen, nothing wasted and no black spaces (yeah I am talking to you uncharted )

The Criminal thing is this game gets no credit and the sales looked bad, but i don't understand why its the best Multiplayer game on PS3. I think if more people played the game it would be even better.. The game is best played with a lot of people in a absolutely chaotic online frenzy of pure fun and madness. This game brings yet another great multiplayer PS3 game into the collection of games like Uncharted, Killzone, Resistance, Twisted Metal, this game stands with them and is personal favorite, the only knock is the fairly short single player mode, and sometimes you can get hugely lopsided rounds where there is nothing you can do about it, but thats not a flaw in the game its just a personal gripe. The best way i can describe it is a 3rd person BETTER Halo, its got all the vehicles and space combat . it may not have the big cut scenes and huge budget, but the actual gameplay is far better then games like Call of Cuty or Halo, its ashame..

Overall Starhawk has been a ton of fun and think people who are fans of shooters of anykind should check this game and give COD and Halo a break, they have enough money.. I feel for games like Starhawk who are very ambitious and create and whole new story and series its like a new IP and not get the sales they deserve. PS3 Owners do yourself a favor and check out Starhawk you wont regret it Gameplay: Tight Controls and exciting gameplay make Starhawk a joy to play anytime tons of vehicles like hawks, tanks, speedbikes, warthogs, etc..
Graphics: While not the Best in world, the game does look amazing, everything in the game looks great with lots of different map types and planets and give your eyeballs a treat, with minimal glitching and bugs
Story: Compelling if somewhat basic its a story that if you get yourself involved can be quite compelling, or could totally blow right over your head Sound: Some of the greatest music is heard in a long time, with epic scores and iconic sounds make this game complete with a top notch score
Replay Factor: Very High (wish for more dlc but i have not bought any so yea)
Overall: One of the best reasons to own a PS3, with so many great exclusives already on the console the library of games grow even larger with Starhawk being a Great and amazing experience through and through that Shooter fans and gamers a like should check out. If your feeling bored with the same old COD try something new and different like Starhawk and you will have a lot of fun! :)
