What a great game! I can still remember all those years ago when I first fired this up....the music is quite interesting....of course, in music a 'Major' chord is, in a very stereotypical way, equated with 'happy, and a 'minor' chord, again in a very stereotypical way, is equated with sad...Darth Vader's theme, although sounding very dark, is actually constructed of a Major chord triad....why do I mention this? Well, the makers of this game created a VERY COOL theme (that you can see on youtube) for the beginning intro that turns the Imperial theme into a rather upbeat, noble, and stately 12/8 march (I dream about arranging this for orchestra or band) that I have never heard anywhere else in the Star Wars movies, episodes, etc....after this, you enter as a cadet and can learn how to fly the different ships, advance in rank, join a secret society, AND THEN after all of this actually go out on missions....I say this now, this game is still relevant and fun even today (as I have gone back and played this over)....not only that, but the game runs fairly well on a Win98 machine (juiced by 1998 standards), and I can't recall any DTD or other issues at all....ultimately, it's cool to be a baddie playing this game, but this game also has the depth to blur the lines of which side is the 'good' side....
