The game is pretty good but because is too so short, best for rental.

User Rating: 6.5 | Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II PS3
The Force Unleashed 2 brings back the all powerfull Jedi Starkiller with his powerful arrays of force abilities however lots were obviously cut out of the game due to relatively short development time making it a short lived experience, shorter than the last game which was already considered short.

Story: The game takes place sometime after the light side ending of the first game, Because of Starkiller's defeat and the capture of general Rham Kota the rebel forces have been scattered across the galaxy, to counter this Darth Vader has been working on a secret project to clone Star Killer (or so Vader says), however Star Killer has been haunted by memories of his past, not being sure whether he is a clone and also certain that Vader would betray him again (based on his memories) Star Killer decides to escape the cloning facility in Kamino in search of Juno Ecplise as well as to find out whether he is the real Star Killer or as Vader said, an expendable clone.

Game design: The game goes in a linear fashion just like the game before it, there is a preset path for you to take, clobbering enemies along the way and solving environmental puzzles. The environments look pretty sharp and detailed and the figures are pretty well detailed as well, the CG cinematics have gain a visual upgrade and look much better than ever, closely resembling the films, however unlike the first game the story campaign is a straight to go adventure, meaning you can't select a stage like in the first game to replay through, so if there is a trophy or 2 you have missed you will have to start the game all over from the beginning.
After tackling the main story campaign you could tackle the challenge mode the game has to offer and you can also tackle the battle of endor DLC (which is for free) where you play as the conclusion of the dark side ending similar to the first game's ultimate sith edition.

Game play: You will once again take on the helm of Star Killer, this time equipped with duel lightsabers that he can use for devastating attacks, as you progress through the game there will be segments in which Star Killer will "remember" old moves like the force push and force repulse, a new addition to his force powers is Jedi mind trick where he can hypnotize enemies into either attacking each other or commit suicide, some enemies however will not be so affected by mind trick like other force users or battle droids.
Another addition to Star Killer's force arsenal is the force fury mode, as you kill enemies a gauge at the bottom left of the screen will fill, once it does you can unleash force fury where al your stats will amplify significantly and your attacks become incredible powerful to the point you can force grip and crush an AT-ST without the need to damage it, Star Killer can now also deflect incoming projectiles using a carefully timed block and can also grab enemies and follow them up with additional combos.
Each force power can be upgraded up to 3 levels by collecting force points that come either from fallen enemies or environmental hazards, personal stats like Life bar and Force meter can be upgraded by finding jedi holocroms which are hidden through out stages, jedi holocroms also contain other rewards like costumes, lightsaber colours and force points, also in case you get lost in the game you can press the d-pad to sense which direction to go to.
There are various types of enemies that can be taken down in different ways and some require specific tactics to take down, like some can best be taken down using melee attacks while some work better with force abilities, larger enemies that require certain strategies will take a while to take down and once they do you can finish them off using QTEs.

Sound: The game has a bunch of classic star wars music to keep the adrenaline pumping as well as originals exclusive to the game, voice actors do a good job in portraying their characters however the dailouges in this game are mostly week and don't fall much shorter than one liners.

Star Wars The Force Unleashed 2 is a great action game with an interesting story to tell and has its moments, however the game is incredibly weak in content.
You only visit 4 worlds only of which 3 are playable (Daghoba is mostly there for show and nothing more) and 2 of which you revisit.
You can't select which stage to go to like in the old game so missing a trophy could cost you time. While the duel lightsabers are really awesome additions and have a variety of combo movements they are for most parts not that useful, especially against enemies that surround you and attack you relentlessly from all directions and also there is little insentive to use them (you don't get rewarded for using combos like in DMC or Bayonatta) you then end up spamming lightsaber throws and force repulse.
The Challenge mode is also rather short and has little exciting challenges.
Its obvious that much has been cut off from the game to keep up with development time, for a game that's been rushed The Force Unleashed 2 is a pretty good game, however in no way is this game worth the full price tag it was given, its an awesome short lived adventure that's worthy of a rental and nothing more.
