“Star Wars: Rogue Squadron” for the N64 was the first good Star Wars game that allowed the player to fly various ships from the Star Wars universe.

While the N64 was a rather dismal console, “Star Wars: Rogue Squadron” did stand apart as one of the better games. The ships behaved in a flight simulator sort of way with great game control, and there were enough missions and ships to keep the gameplay interesting, and replay value up.

The play areas were rather huge, and the non-linear aspect of the levels kept the game fresh and enjoyable. In addition, all the sounds and music were straight from Star Wars, and added to the enjoyment of the game. “Star Wars: Rogue Squadron” still stands as one of my favorite Star Wars games.
