Rebel Assault II is a linear game using live-action video footage combined with computer graphics. Some of the action takes place in space, while the remainder is on the ground in an Imperial stronghold.

You’ll take control of a Rebel pilot, who is gunned down on a patrol of space where ships are disappearing. Crash landing on a planet, and armed with only a pistol, the character must infiltrate a nearby facility, take out Imperial troops, and find a ship to escape.

The graphics are stunning, stemming from the live action used in their creation. It’s almost like playing a movie instead of a video game; this becomes more apparent in the actual play, as there are little to no options for variations. You’ll move from point A to B, then C, and so on until the end.

As a first timer, this was a great game, but it holds minimal replay value.
