Savetehhaloz reviews KOTOR 2, the sequel to one of the PC's best Star Wars RPGs of all time. Find out what went wrong.
STORY: There are minor references to the original KOTOR storyline, but thats about it. The player starts off with a whole new player and new Sith threat. KOTOR 2 follows the same formula as the predecessor, with an equal number and variety of companion NPCs. However, the story feels unfinished and rushed in many sections of the game as there is a lack of storyline development.
GRAPHICS: The graphics are good and are an improvement on the original KOTOR. However, there differences mainly consist of sharper textures. The GUI technically remains the same.
SOUND: KOTOR 2 lives up to its Star Wars name by delivering great sound; the hum of lightsabers and high pitched chirps of blaster fire are just like the movie. The included musical score is also of epic proportions and immerses the player into the Star Wars universe.
GAMEPLAY: The game's combat and interactions are point and click; meaning that you only control what your player does by clicking and selecting an action. Movement however, is controlled by the player.
CONCLUSION: The game is rushed and unfinished; evident by the amount of unused content found by modders. The game however is enjoyable, yet fails to live up to its predecessor's legacy.
