As I started to play this game, I just finished the 1st KotOR and got really disappointed in the story line of the 2nd. And I won't even mention the end of this game.
I can't say that the story line was very bad, it was very good from an objective aspect, but I just wished that it could be more connected to the first part and it's characters. While playing KotOR 2, I was hoping all the time to meet my KotOR character Revan or Bastilla or others that had a meaning in the 1st game, which could mean a lot in the game but there were mostly only talks about Revan.
It was great to visit the places you had visited in the 1st game. When you're really deep into the story line then any connection with the previously seen places is a good thing.
Also combats in this game were better, more interesting than in KotOR and that is the advantage of this game.
But the strange ending of the game was the one that really made me feel a bit worse about the game... If there would come a sequel to this SW series then it wouldn't be that bad, but now all that comes is a multiplayer game... I'm personally not very happy about that, but better than nothing.
It would be fantastic if Star Wars: KotOR would become a great RPG trilogy like Gothic has or Mass Effect is about to be.
But with the multiplayer coming, you can't really call it a RPG trilogy.

In short words I really do like this game and I'll suggest it to others, but in my opinion the story for KotOR 2 was made in a rush and that's why it's not that successful or maybe Bioware should have done a big part in production and not Obsidian
