New Republic, New Jedi

User Rating: 8.1 | Star Wars Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast XBOX
Ahh yes. The New Republic is just getting on its feet. Remnants of the 1st Galactic Empire are in a state of emergency. This is the game of a troubled man fumbling his way through the Jedi arts.

Gameplay: Ok right off the bat Jedi Oucast II is very difficult, it will take patience and brain activity to complete this game. The controls can seem strange the first time you pop the disc in, but with slight adjusting you can fix nearly any control problem. Now.....when it comes to the FPS aspect the game can seem very VERY wonky....I'm talking about not knowing which button is which. Aiming can be frustrating at times, and you can sometimes be ambushed byt stromtroopers that get the go-ahead on you. It's sorry to say but the inventory system is HORRIBLE.....it is so difficult to fish out a simple bacta container to heal yourself. Not only that but the HUD is an all out mess. The Health counter and Force meter always get confusing. If you can manage to get past these mishaps you'll be alright.

Graphics: The graphics in Jedi Outcast 2 are on the "ehh" side. While there are some nice lightsaber effects, and the lightsabers themselves look great. However the character models could use TLC in large doses. Also the enviroments look seriously sub-standard, I really expected more from the enviroments. The only real perk here is the lightsabers, everything looks like it came from a twisted version of the Star Wars universe.

Sound:..............Ok I'm tired of explaining this part of the review for Star Wars games. Dammit it's all John Williams YES THE SOUND IS GOOD. YES THE MUSIC IS GOOD. This goes for all star wars games. The voice.....however....well....the voice isn't bad. It's done quite well.

Overall: Well....it's a solid game for sure. But the real meat here is in the lightsaber segments, I'm telling you after I got my lightsaber almost every other weapon became obsolete to me. If you're a Star Wars fan you're gonna' want to give this one a go. But as for the other people you'll find little in this title.
