Good for its time, but still kinda meh...

I used to love this game, as well as most of the series, when they first came out, but I think now the only reason why I liked them to begin with is because I was once a huge Star Wars fan. Another thing that was cool about this game (and later ones as well) was the implementation of limb dismemberment during lightsaber duels.

Other than that, the game itself had no real draw (other than the graphics were extremely good back then). Even then, I began to notice the formulaic nature of the story (oh no, Sith are coming! I'm tempted by the dark side! Must fight it off! Defeat evil-doer! rinse and repeat).

Other than the somewhat shallow lightsaber mechanics and force powers (still better than anything from that time), the combat was an extreme bore. In fact, there is no incentive to use any other weapons anyway as they're all relatively ineffective, boring, and the lightsaber is just too overpowered anyway. Just run at the enemy, swing the lightsaber, and run back. If they shoot at you with a slow moving laser, stop moving and you'll deflect it at them. Works wonders.

Further hindering combat is the stupid A.I., but I think I already explained that one with how combat works.

Just pass on this game, you'll do yourself a favor.
