SWG's expansions continue to go downhill...

After "Jump to Lightspeed" came out it would seem SOE forgot how to make a good expansion pack, and that is more then evident in their latest expansion "Trials of Obi-Wan". Mustafar? What's with that? The only reason SOE ever released such a horrible choice for a planet as Musfatar was because they hoped to make big bucks with with the release of Star Wars Episode III. The content and story was all geared towards Jedi. The story was about Jedi, the main character (Obi-Wan) was a Jedi, the quest items were Jedi- or Force-related items... It's just sad. Sure, all professions can use most of the items, but it's just that the expansion was clearly made with Jedi in mind. Jedi, Jedi, Jedi... That's all SOE thinks about and that's very clear with this expansion and the release of the NGE. What content wasn't geared toward Jedi was content with a storyline from 4000 years before the Galactic Civil War. Hoping to make some money and attract fans of the "Knights of the Old Republic" games, SOE stuck HK-47 awkwardly into the story. For some reason HK-47 wants to destroy Mustafar... No clue why, really. Why there's a 4000 year-old droid, why there's a 4000 year-old starship crashed on Mustafar, and why a 4000 year-old droid has a brand-new YT-2400 is beyond me.

As usual ToOW had countless bugs, glitches and exploits... A few of them that still exist to this very day, such as bugged lava graphics for GeForce video cards. And as usual SOE has not given this planet any new content.

Still, I must give it credit... Trials of Obi-Wan was a decent expansion. SWG badly needed an expansion and this one helped breath some life, though very little, back into the stale game. Too bad the Devs ruined what good was left of SWG when the NGE was released...

Once you complete all the quests on Mustafar, which wont take long at all because there aren't many, there is no reason to ever return to Mustafar. While ToOW was somewhat fun it wasn't worth paying for and should have been a free update.
