If you're a Star Trek Voyager fan like me, this game is a must-own.. but the aging graphics can look pretty sad on today's systems. Here are some config tips to squeeze the most juice out of it. Please, however, note that when I updated my wide resolution, the opening FMV cutscene when you start in the game won't play, but will just show a white screen with music (mouse click to skip). However, the in game cutscenes played fine. Mouse click to skip them. Also note that these settings are the same you could set in Quake III, the engine the game is based on. I got much of this info from browsing the bountiful info about Quack III on the web.

For one, the textures are pretty sharp at "very high," but look quite compressed at any other setting. Unfortunately, for me, whenever I update the texture detail, the game is unable to save the config settings after the game is closed. However, upon manually editing the config file, it sticks.

Find your config file. It should be under: [Game Folder]\BaseEF\econfig.cfg (and) hmconfig.cfg

> Edit Your Config Settings <

seta r_picmip "0" (0: Textures: Very High; 1-3 Lower Respectively)

seta r_mode "-1" (Custom)

seta r_customwidth "xxxx" (Custom Width; Ex: 1920)

seta r_customheight "xxx" (Custom Height; Ex: 1200)

seta cg_fov "90" (90: 16:9, 80: 4:3)
