Many people who like StarTrek find this game awfully complicated and dismiss it. On the other hand I LOVE IT.

As said in excerpt people, because its steep learning curve, leave this game alone. Apart it being old, way old I still play it today on my intel Core2Duo E6750 and GTX260 Core216 with 3GB of RAM.

Why? Well its love on first playing. Don't get me wrong. This game is made in 1997. and it is incredibly old. But the user interface is so Trek friendly. Playing with Federation you will fall in love with LCARS they use.

Its the best combination and arrangement of options I ever saw in the game. If you plan to play it like I do, do yourself a favor, buy another high-quality mouse. Because you will be clicking all around the place, since keyboard is useless for the most part because of the game slowdown.

Most of the stuff from the game you can find on internet but the feel of the game you will have to experience in first hand playing.
There are many attempts of the "open source" community to create a MOD or a patch for the game but its a futile attempt.

Most of the MODers create the game how the would like it, or with the most of their skills, no one can repeat the beauty of the UI of the old game.
