Ever since the RTS genre hit the scene, seems like EVERY gaming company needed to jump on the RTS bandwagon and make their own RTS for their game series. Ever since DUNE : Battle For Arakus came out, more and more games have been starting to follow up as well as make their own style of RTS. WESTWOOD added Command and Conquor, Blizzard came out with War Craft, TSR/SSI made BLOOD MAGIC, an unknown company made a game called ALCHEMIST, there was even a Gameboy version called Warlocked (Somewhat like War Craft). Now just about every game series has come out with similar RTS games such as STAR WARS GALACTIC BATTLEGROUNDS, AXIS & ALLIES, SOUL CALIBUR III had a somewhat RTS game, Star Trek New Worlds, Dark Riegn, Demon World, and the list goes on. Star Trek now adds Armada to the list and it's fantastic. This is one game that I can totally get into a lot. Mainly becuase you can play as Borg, Cardassian, Spesies 8472, and even Ferangi. There is a lot to do and a lot to upgrade. Just like a lot of other really good RTS games, each race has their own strengths and weaknesses. This is one game you need to add to youer RTS collection...

GRAPHICS
=========
Very nice, very good detail to the weapons, explosions, ship designs, starbase designs, and the space anomalies you will run into. Even the ship damage is very well detailed adding the fire and flares when they take damage. You will be very pleased with the detail and design of each and every ship, starbase, and space anomalies.

CONTROL
=========
Just about everything can be controlled with the mouse, one way or another. It does take a while to learn a few things here and there, but once you know them, the gameplay is very good and you will figure it out fast. Especially learning about depth control. Gameplay itself is not that much different from otyher RTS games. Build your first base, get some upgrades, build some ships for defense, collect minerals such as dilithium and latinum for supplies, and then, let the enemies have it when you build your armada to wipe out your opponent. The main thing about this is that there is so much to do during gameplay even before battles happen. You can colonize planets, steal starbases and ships, and don't forget that each race and special abilities that other races don't have so make sure you take advatage of it. Plus, lets not forget multiplayer games and networking.

OVERALL
========
I will say that if you are a Star Trek fan, then this game is a must have for your collection. Most of the Star Trek games have been pretty good and have had little disappointments. If you just love a good RTS, then you have little excuses, unless you are into medeval type games. This is one RTS that you can and will get into fast.
