Okay I rented SSX3 last night from Video Warehouse. My roommate and I were really excited about this because we both love SSX Tricky. I read the reviews here and asked questions and they all pointed me to think this would be a good game. Sadly, I thought wrong. Don't get me wrong, the graphics are amazing! If you're really looking for an adrenaline rush nothing is better than this. Plus the music of the game is great. You start off with a full roster of characters including some new ones. I like that part of the game. The game becomes rather confusing when you actually start down/up the mountain. There are three peaks that you chose from. If you take a wrong turn, you'll end up at a different race. There are LOTS of races to chose from with very little instructions or directions on how to win. Even if you win a race, you don't actually win. You have to work towards a money goal amount that is preset. Doesn't make much since to me. I should be rewarded for winning a race not for making money. Then at the lodge where you can save, I found that you can buy more gear for your character as well as collectibles (toys, posters, etc). I don't see the point of why these features are in SSX3. They don't add to gameplay. And instead of buying the gear (especially boards) it would seem better to win a race and then recieve the boards as an accomplishment. Overall SSX3 seems to be a good game, but there are too many options and not enough focus on gameplay.
