There are plenty of additional characters to unlock and the tricks are fun to pull off. However once you beat the game with one character, you find out that there is zero difference between the characters except what they look like. That makes playing the single-player game a 2nd time pretty pointless. The graphics are great but in some ways I prefer the SSX Tricky courses. In SSX3, the courses are very wide and open and "realistic," but not very vertical. The previous game, SSX Tricky, had courses that were often very veritical, with lots of different paths that really were very different from each other within that level. The Gamespot review doesn't really address this issue. The interface is mildly annoying because important information is buried across several screens. EA loves to create over-complicated menus in all of their best games. btw, Downhill Domination on the PS2 was easily as good as this game and had a more fun combat interface. If you liked the combat mode in SSX you should look for Downhill Domination in the bargain bins.
