GameSpot gives Nascar games 7.6 - 8.8 and this game only gets a 5.8? Ignorance is bliss!

User Rating: 8.4 | Sprint Cars: Road to Knoxville PS2
Ignorance is no excuse, that is what the judge will tell you when you say "well, I didn't know that". The same can be said for the gamespot review. If you don't know what your talking about then don't speak! The world of outlaws isn't AAA for Nascar, although several drivers have come from it. Drivers from go-carts, to Indy cars, even F1, also go to Nascar. If there where a "AAA" for Nascar, everyone (except GameSpot) knows that is the Busch series. Now that I'm done ranting, the things I did not like about this game are this: terrible car graphics, I mean the paint jobs are down right ugly. They should have had a more customizable paint and graphics department. No online play. The fact that you get a code, enter it on their website, and see how you stack up against other people does not make up for not having online game play. It didn't work many time for me. It would say "invalid code" which really ticked me off since those where usually top five times.
With all that out of the way, this is a really good game if your into sprint cars. And if your not I still think you should give it a try. I love how gamespot will give this game a hard time for going left 20 to 30 laps at a time and call it monotonous, and they give Nascar 8.8's for going left. The physics, sound, in game graphics, are all good. The handling can be challenging once you have moved through the ranks to the Outlaw Sprints, but you will be rewarded with some haulin a$$ laps. There are also several unlockables, cars, tracks, and get this....on some of these tracks you turn right!! OMFG!! Maybe if the staffers actually played this **** game for more than 20 mins. they would know this. HA HA HA! If you like any kind of car racing you should give this a try. And you Nascar fans,( I'm one too) try turning left in the dirt! I DOUBLE DAWG DARE YA!!!!!!!!!
